Thanks Irina! I do use a little bit of salt, but then layer more color over that wash when it dries so that the effect is softened. I also paint wet into varying degrees of damp paint so that I get other textures. It is fun experimenting with different techniques to see the outcome.

It seems to me they're floating in the air, hung to invisible strings...very nice and unusual hues.
