I tend to sketch very rapidly taking three or four minutes at most, after looking at your drawings, decided that I must get back to really looking and defining with a pencil again, thanks
Thanks TLC! They are studies, so usually I keep my time to anywhere between 1 - 4 hours. For this one in particular, I think it was maybe 2 1/2 - 3 hours.
Exquisite detail in light and texture. I can feel the bumpy skin of the avocado and imagine the smooth, tasty flesh inside. I adore your "feel" for the object you draw.

Your pencil work is amazing; the contrasts in texture; the lovely linen work below. Astounding

Your pencil sketches bring out the natural beauty in everything. Another awesome drawing, another wow!
Study? More like a masterpiece! You make me want to draw!
Draw, Joan. Finish building the damn chicken coop and draw.
I'm Speechless....just looking at that texture!
avocado and pears!
Beautiful!
As per your usual, your moleskine drawings are lovely.
About how long do you allow yourself to spend on these studies would you say?

I enjoyed visiting your blog!
Oh gosh, this is unbelievable.
Nice contrast of textures, Kate.
The rough and bumpy avocado compliments the pear's smooth skin nicely.
Lovely!
